1. Courses and Curriculum


The Department of English Language Education offers a structured and progressive curriculum designed to meet the linguistic, academic, and professional needs of students across all disciplines of medical and health sciences.
The curriculum is organized into two main foundational and two advanced applied components:
General English Courses
English 1 (General English I)
Focuses on foundational language skills including reading comprehension, vocabulary development, grammatical accuracy, and basic academic communication strategies.
English 2 (General English II)
Builds upon English I with emphasis on academic reading skills, paragraph development, extended vocabulary in scientific contexts, and introductory academic writing.


English for Specific Purposes (ESP):


ESP 1 (English for Medical Sciences I)
Introduces discipline-oriented language instruction tailored to medical and health sciences students, focusing on terminology acquisition, comprehension of simplified scientific texts, and foundational academic literacy in medicine.


ESP 2 (English for Medical Sciences II)


Advances students’ ability to engage with authentic academic and clinical texts, develop discipline-specific communication skills, and apply English in professional and research-oriented contexts.
Discipline-Specific ESP Programs


In addition to the core curriculum, the Department provides specialized ESP courses across all faculties and schools of the University, including but not limited to:

Paramedical Sciences
Public Health and Allied Health Programs


These courses are continuously adapted to meet the evolving linguistic and communicative demands of each academic discipline and are aligned with international standards of English for Academic and Professional Purposes.
